The German Federal Government Has Accelerated The Approval Process for Onshore Wind And Solar Energy

The German government has adopted a draft law to implement the European Union Renewable Energy Directive (EU) 2023/2413 (RED III) in the field of onshore wind and solar energy, as well as storage facilities. The draft was jointly submitted by the Federal Ministry of Economic Affairs, the Federal Ministry of Housing and the Federal Ministry of Environmental Protection. By designating acceleration zones and shortening approval times, the approval process for onshore wind and solar energy is expected to be significantly accelerated.
