On August 12, the White House issued a notice to increase the tariff quota for imported solar cells from 5GW to 12.5GW, and the tariff is currently set at 14.25%. In May this year, the Biden administration said it would consider increasing the quota if imports of photovoltaic cells approached the level of 5GW. In fact, in the first half of this year, the United States imported a total of about 5.2GW of battery chips, which has reached the original annual exemption quota.
