Azerbaijan's "Trend" network reported on October 26 that data from the Ministry of Energy of Azerbaijan showed that since the grid was connected to power generation on October 26, 2023, Gobustan's 230 MW photovoltaic power plant has generated nearly 460 million KWH. The power station covers an area of 550 hectares, with 570,000 photovoltaic panels, with a total investment of 260 million US dollars, owned by Masdar Company of the United Arab Emirates, for the first large-scale ground grid-connected photovoltaic power station built by foreign investment in Afghanistan, the largest photovoltaic power station in the CIS and Caspian Sea region, can generate 500 million KWH per year, save 110 million square meters of natural gas, reduce carbon emissions by 200,000 tons.
