Indonesia Welcomes Chinese Solar Photovoltaic Enterprises To Build Factories

Overseas network, June 17, according to the Jakarta Globe, Indonesia is seeking investment in China's solar energy industry as well as technical assistance to improve air quality.

"We are seeking investment from the solar industry and some technical assistance to help us reduce pollution from coal power plants and improve air quality," Indonesia's coordinating minister of Oceans and investment, Luhut, said in a statement released on Tuesday. Indonesia plans to achieve net zero emissions by 2060, and the country currently relies on coal for power generation.

Luhut said that Indonesia is rich in solar energy resources, "which is why I encourage Chinese solar PV companies and product suppliers to set up factories in Indonesia."
