Bangladesh's first large-scale wind farm goes online to generate electricity

On May 27, the Bangladesh Koba wind Power project, which was built by EPC of Chengdu Institute of Power Construction Corporation of China and contracted by Shanghai Power Construction Corporation, successfully put into operation to generate electricity, which is the first new energy project built by Chinese enterprises in Bangladesh.
As a key project in Bangladesh, Coba Wind Farm is the first large-scale centralized wind farm in Bangladesh, and also the first new energy project built by Chinese enterprises in Bangladesh. The construction scale is 66 MW, 22 wind turbines with a single capacity of 3.0 MW are installed, and a 132 kV boost station is built, including comprehensive buildings, distribution buildings and ancillary facilities.
In the construction of Koba, the project team of the company and the general contracting project team of the participating parties coordinated and cooperated closely, gave full play to their rich experience in overseas project construction, and overcame many adverse factors such as land acquisition difficulties, high pressure of epidemic prevention and control, and long local rainy season to promote project performance with high quality, and successfully completed the work of the southern wind farm, boost station and delivery line. Ensure the project put into operation to generate electricity.
The annual average power generation of Koba project is 144.92 million KWH, which can save 44,500 tons of standard coal, reduce ash and slag emissions by 0.88 million tons, reduce soot by 12.73 tons, sulfur dioxide by 66 tons, and nitrogen oxides by 61 tons. After the completion of the project, it will promote the rapid development of Bangladesh's wind power industry, drive the coordinated development of surrounding leisure agriculture and tourism industries, and is of great significance to meet the needs of Bangladesh's power grid transformation and upgrading, and support high-quality green economic and social development.
Bangladesh is a key country for China Power Construction to jointly build the high-quality "Belt and Road", and the Dasher Gandhi sewage treatment plant designed and constructed by Chengdu Institute is also benefiting the local community. Dasher Gandhi project is the first modern large-scale sewage treatment plant in Bangladesh, the largest single sewage treatment plant in South Asia so far, which can treat the domestic sewage of nearly 5 million people in the urban area of Dhaka, the capital, and greatly improve the pollution of the surrounding water environment.
